Dream Home in Bangalore, India

/01

A distinctive feature of the home is the guest en-suite bedroom on the top floor, which opens onto an atrium terrace. The terrace is positioned so that its smaller portion faces the neighboring house on the west, while the main opening extends southward. This arrangement allows for generous glazing toward the terrace, bringing in light and openness while still maintaining privacy within the dense urban fabric.

Responding to the clients’ wish for greenery, we also introduced a planted terrace on the east side, where gentle morning sun supports vegetation. Positioned at the corner of the house, the large roof terrace frames views toward the park on the south. The overall geometry of the house opens itself to the park and intersection, with the volume stepping down at the corner to reinforce this openness.

The north-east entrance on the ground floor welcomes positive energy, aligning with Vastu’s air element to create an auspicious entry. Also on the ground floor, the north-west gym harnesses the air element for movement and vitality, while the south-central guest suite taps into the fire element for warmth and activity. On the first floor, the south-east master suite channels the fire element to enhance vitality, complemented by the south-west living zone, which grounds the space with its earth energy. On the second floor, the north-west en-suite bedroom leverages the air element for lightness, and the east/north-east green terrace embraces the water element to foster growth and renewal.

With minimalist interiors and sustainable materials, the house reflects the client’s wish for a contemporary lifestyle while respecting Vastu’s guiding principles—achieving a balance of tradition and modernity without compromise.
